Fans of Chris Evans can breathe easy! Despite rumors from last month, the Captain America star reveals he has no plans to retire from acting for good.
“I directed last year, and I really responded to it, I really enjoyed it,” he clarified on Good Morning America. “I’d love to focus a little bit more on that. By no means am I planning on retiring. It’s kind of a silly statement. But I certainly am going to focus a bit more on directing.”
The comment echos what he revealed in a recent Variety interview, but the magazine also quotes him as saying, “If I’m acting at all, it’s going to be under Marvel contract, or I’m going to be directing. I can’t see myself pursuing acting strictly outside of what I’m contractually obligated to do.”
Even if he does only continue to act in Marvel movies…there’s still more to come. Captain America: The Winter Soldier premieres on April 4, and then the actor will begin filming Avengers 2: Age of Ultron. Plus, there’s already plans for a third Captain America due out in 2016!
