Kelsey Grammar has secretly shot a cameo as Beast in the newest X-Men film, Days of Future Past. The actor played the role in 2006’s X-Men: The Last Stand.
“Producers had the brilliant idea to bring back Kelsey for Days of Future Past,” an insider tells Star. “It wasn’t hard to get him to sign on for a guest appearance. He jumped at the opportunity the second it was brought to his attention.”
The X-Men: First Class sequel takes place in the not so distant future, with the X-Men trying to change history by sending Wolverine back in time. Their goal is to stop an event that results in disaster for both the mutants and humans in the future, and Kelsey will appear as an alternate adult Beast toward the end of the film.
“Kelsey’s special cameo was secretly shot during post-production on the Fox lot under the impression that Kelsey would be on set to film a pilot for a different project,” the insider adds. The cast, which include Jennifer Lawrence, Hugh Jackman and more, is still busy re-shooting scenes for the film, and their original $250 million budget has soared to $334 million!
X-Man: Days of Future Past will hit theaters on May 23, 2014.
