Star Trek star Chris Pine was charged with drunk driving in New Zealand, according to the Associated Press. He is scheduled to appear in court next Monday, Mar. 17.
Police confirmed that a 33-year-old American was charged with DUI during a routine, early morning check on March 1, but they did not name the man. The actor is currently in New Zealand filming Z For Zachariah, and the manager of a Methven bar confirmed to local newspaper The Press that he was there, drinking, on the night of Feb. 28.
According to the bar manager, Chris did not appear intoxicated when leaving the movie’s wrap celebration around 2:30 am. He was joined by Icelandic girlfriend Iris Bjork Johannesdottir.
