For the first time since Star revealed that Selena Gomez had secretly spent two weeks in rehab, the singer has addressed the subject, albeit subtly. On Monday, the 21-year-old issued a brief statement on Instagram that alludes to the trouble she’s been having lately.
“I’ve done everything I could to the best of my ability,” she wrote. “Thank you for the unconditional love and cyber hugs. You inspire me.” Along with the caption, she shared a photo of herself smiling while standing at the front of a boat in the middle of the water.
As Star first reported last week, Selena’s rep confirmed that the “Come and Get It” singer had been admitted to the Dawn at the Meadows recovery facility on Jan. 5. She left two weeks later to head to the Sundance Film Festival in Utah, where she promoted her film Rudderless.
No word yet on when Selena plans to return to work. At the end of last year, she canceled 2014 tour dates in Australia and Asia.
