LISTEN: Lea Michele's Song Inspired by Cory Monteith

Lea Michele

Six and a half months after his unexpected death, Cory Monteith lives on through Lea Michele. The actress released the song “You’re Mine” from her upcoming album, Louder, on Monday, which she previously revealed was a tribute to her late boyfriend.

“My next IG track #YOUREMINE (available tomorrow)is my favorite song on #LOUDER,” she tweeted on Monday. “It’s so special to me & it’s story is so close to my heart.”

In the emotional tune, the 27-year-old sings, “You’re mine, for life, and I’ll be by your side, we are entwined.” She penned the song following Cory’s death of a drug overdose in July.

“The album was done, and the label said, ‘Do you want to add anything?'” she recalled. “I was like, ‘I might regret it if I don’t.'” Of the song, Lea added, “It makes me so happy, this song. It makes me think so much of Cory. It was ours. When I think of him, I play this.”
