So much for staying out of the public eye! Just three days after Shia LaBeouf announced that he’d be “retiring from all public life,” he was back on social media, issuing another strange round of tweets.

His messages were in response to Jim Carrey, who used an appearance at the Golden Globe Awards to diss the currently troubled star. “Dying is easy,” Jim told the audience. “Comedy is hard. I believe it was Shia LaBeouf who said that!”

Of course, the actor is referencing Shia’s current legal troubles for plagiarism, the backlash of which caused him to “retire” in the first place. “If you explain @JimCarrey you’ve killed him, Nobody knows if it’s for real or not,” he tweeted. “That way he’s immortal.”

Next, the former Disney star shared a YouTube clip of Jim’s daughter, Jane Carrey’s, band. “At least I don’t get arrested for indecency on major LA highways! Or abandon love child’s,” he added.

Then, of course, came the apologies. In the weeks since news of his plagiarism got out, Shia has been constantly issuing highly-criticized apologies to Daniel Clowes, the graphic novelist whose work he stole. “Jim Carrey states that he is deeply involved in his daughter’s life – I accept that, regret tweet on the matter,” he wrote this time. “Apologies to both parents.”

Before signing off from his latest rant, he made sure to add, “I AM NOT FAMOUS ANYMORE.” He’s certainly not doing a great job at laying low, though!
