Taylor Swift Turns 24: Her 5 Best TV Performances This Year

23 has been an incredibly successful year for Taylor Swift, but today, the singer is moving forward to see what her next year will bring. She’s celebrating her birthday in Australia, where she’ll wrap up her Red tour dates down under on Dec. 14.

Besides just touring the world this year, though, Taylor made many formal appearances, at award shows and such, leading to some of her best performances of all time. In honor of her birthday, we’ve rounded up the “Red” singer’s five best from the past year — check it out:

5. New Year’s Rockin’ Eve

Just after turning 23, Taylor rang in 2013 with a performance at Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, where she kept warm in tight leather pants and (of course) a shiny red jacket. She sang her pop hits from 2012, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” and “I Knew You Were Trouble.”

4. Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show

Taylor just about fit in with the models while performing “I Knew You Were Trouble” in a sparkling, silver, minidress at the 2013 runway show in November! On the same night, she also joined Fall Out Boy for a performance of their song “My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark.”

3. Country Music Awards

The CMAs were a huge night for Taylor — she received the second-ever Pinnacle Award for her international contribution to country music. PLUS, she gave an iconic, stripped down performance of her song “Red” with country legends Allison Krauss, Vince Gill, Sam Bush, Edgar Meyer, and Eric Darken.

2. Grammy Awards

Fans will always remember Taylor’s energetic, circus-themed performance of “We are Never Ever Getting Back Together” at the Grammy Awards — mostly because of her completely obvious dig at ex Harry Styles! During the song’s bridge, she imitated his British accent during a mock phone call.

1. Billboard Music Awards

Taylor took over the entire arena, backstage and all, to sing her song “22” at the Billboard Music Awards this year. The fast paced, high-energy performance was definitely unforgettable.
