Paris Hilton Slams Fake Nelson Mandela Tweet

Paris Hilton

Paris Hilton isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed, but even she wouldn’t make this mistake. The socialite slammed Twitter account @DeletedTweets after it ran a message, seemingly from her account, confusing Nelson Mandela for Martin Luther King Jr.

The tweet, which appeared just hours after news broke of the legendary South African leader’s death, read, “RIP Nelson Mandela. Your ‘I Have a Dream’ speech was so inspiring. An amazing man.”

Of course, Paris did not actually write the tweet, but she did take to her account to defend herself. “Whoever made that stupid fake tweet lacks respect to the loss the world is mourning right now. Same goes for all the blogs who ran with it,” she wrote.

Before the 32-year-old got wind of the “prank,” she actually honored Mandela in a respectful way. “Just landed & heard the sad new about Nelson Mandela. He was a true Hero & the world is a better place because of him. May he rest in peace.”
