There’s already been hype surrounding Scarlett Johansson’s role in the upcoming movie Her, but regardless of how she performs, the actress has already been deemed ineligible for a Golden Globe nomination. The reason? Well, she doesn’t actually make an appearance in the film.
Instead, the actress provides the voice for “Samantha,” an operating system that Joaquin Phoenix winds up falling for.
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association reportedly has a strict rule that voice performances are not eligible for acting awards at the Globes. Luckily for Scarlett, she’s still in the running for nominations at the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards and Academy Awards. Plus, she’s also received some awards buzz for her part in Don Jon.
