Dancing With the Stars Recap: Who Will Win the Mirror Ball?

Season 18 DWTS Finalists

For the first time in weeks, it was an easy elimination on Dancing With the Stars. Bill Engvall has been at the bottom of the leaderboard since Week 6, but his fans’ support wasn’t enough to push him through this time. The comedian was eliminated just one night before the finale.

That means Corbin Bleu, Amber Riley and Jack Osbourne are the top three, and therefore the contenders for Season 17’s Mirror Ball. All three celebs scored perfect 30s for their Freestyle dances — and rightfully so. While Jack clearly isn’t quite up to par in terms of skill as Amber and Corbin, his partner, Cheryl Burke, choreographed a routine which he executed perfectly, showcasing every skill he’s learned since Week 1.

At the same time, Amber and Corbin both performed incredibly memorable Freestyle routines.

While this anticipated dance is usually what puts the winning couple over the edge each season, the dancers also performed two other routines on Monday night. Notably, Amber was the only one to get improving scores from all three judges on her repeat routine, the Charleston, scoring a perfect 30. Corbin’s Quickstep earned him a 27 (up one point from last time), while Jack actually scored lower on his Jive this time around.

In the Samba relay, the judges awarded Corbin 5 points, Amber 4, and Jack 3.

Tonight, the three finalists will perform one more routine for a chance to earn up to 30 more points that will be combined with viewer votes from last night. If Amber wins, her partner Derek Hough will get his fifth mirror ball trophy. Should Jack take the title, Cheryl will win her third, however, it will be her first since Season 3. Corbin’s partner, Karina Smirnoff, will add a second W to her list if he is the victor.
