Leave it to Ellen DeGeneres to make a celebrity visiting her talk show feel uncomfortable! In an episode airing Thursday, the Ellen DeGeneres Show host did just that to Kerry Washingtont by bringing out all the magazine covers she’s recently bring on — and there’s a lot.
Of course, Ellen had to put a twist on the situation, and even added in a few covers of her own, including the Scandal star covering Kale Quarterly and Pantsuit Monthly….ha!
Getting serious, though, Kerry admits that it’s her mother who keeps track of all the press. “Early on I figured, well, you know, I might have a grandchild one day who wants to see this stuff, but I don’t want to live with this stuff in my house,” she explained. “So I send it all to my mother and she archives it. She gets to be proud.”
The actress says she tries to avoid focusing on all the media and press attention that surrounds her in general. “I just try to stick to the work,” she added. “When you have jobs like ours, it’s easy to stick to the work.”
