Good Morning America's Amy Robach Reveals Breast Cancer Diagnosis

Amy Robach

One of Good Morning America’s correspondents made a shocking announcement on the show Monday morning. Amy Robach revealed that she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and will be undergoing a double mastectomy.

Coincidentally, Amy only got her recent mammogram after being persuaded by Robin Roberts, who also battled the disease. The 40-year-old got the procedure done on-air. “If I got the mammogram on-air and it saved one life, then it’s all worth it,” she said. “It never occurred to me that life would be mine.”

“It’s absolutely surreal to be sitting here,” Amy admitted, during her live interview Monday. “But as scary as it all is, I’m so, so lucky — because you guys pushed me to that mammogram. Thank God you did…I wasn’t in any rush to have that done any time soon.”
