Talk about untraditional! After Deryck Whibley married Avril Lavigne in 2006, he took her last name.
Now, three years after their divorce, the Sum 41 frontman (Deryck Jason Lavigne Whibley) has reportedly filed legal documents to drop the “Lavigne” and switch back to his original birth name.
After splitting in 2009, Avril and Deryck finalized their divorce in 2010, although they remain friends. Over the summer, the 29-year-old married Nickelback singer Chad Kroeger. In fact, Avril actually met her new husband while she was dating Deryck, back when she was only 17.
