It’s all paid off! After months of public skepticism about the new direction of Miley Cyrus‘ music (not to mention, her image), the singer’s fourth studio album Bangerz has debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 charts. Additionally, the record landed the No. 1 spot on iTunes in 70 countries.
Besides Bangerz, the “Wrecking Ball” singer has been part of four other albums to reach No. 1. Her first solo album Meet Miley Cyrus and its follow up Breakout both peaked at the top. As her alter ego, Miley also hit No. 1 with Hannah Montana and she sang a majority of the songs on the top-charting Hannah Montana: The Movie‘s soundtrack.
The 20-year-old retweeted a few different facts about her recent success. “@
MileyCyrus becomes the 1st female artist to score five #1 albums on The Billboard 200 before the age of 21,” one post read. She also tweeted a congratulatory message to Panic at the Disco, who came in at No. 2. “lezzzz celebrate #topspotzzz,” she wrote.
Coming up, Miley will continue to promote Bangerz, and she’ll give a highly-anticipated performance at the 2013 American Music Awards in November.
