Miley Cyrus Calls Sinead O'Connor an "Incredible Artist" After Twitter Feud

Despite a highly-publicized online feud, Miley Cyrus still has respect for Sinead O’Connor. Although the 20-year-old recently made light of the singer’s mental illness on Twitter, she told Matt Lauer on Monday that she still respects her work.

“I think she’s an incredible artist,” Miley said of the 46-year-old, who recently wrote three open letters to the former Hannah Montana star, criticizing her for her current image. “I think she’s an awesome songwriter and I was really inspired by her for my “Wrecking Ball” video, which was what started the whole thing. I don’t know how somebody can start a fight with someone who said, ‘Hey, I really respect you, and I really love what you did.'”

At the end of the day, though, the “We Can’t Stop” singer seems to have no hard feelings. “That as kind of crazy, but as I said, I’m a big fan of hers, so it really doesn’t matter,” she explained. “It’s all good.”

During the interview, Miley also admitted that her VMAs performance went exactly as she planned. “It’s a month later and we’re still talking about it!” she pointed out. Check out the full Q&A here:
