Teresa & Joe Giudice Talk Fraud Charges, Family and the Future

Teresa & Joe Giudice

It’s been two months since Teresa and Joe Giudice were charged on 39-counts of fraud, and with their trial not set until February, the couple is having to publicly deal with their legal woes. The duo sat down with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live Sunday night, where they dished on how they’ve been handling the situation.

“It’s devastating,” Teresa admitted. “I have anxiety and sleepless nights. I used to sleep like a baby, now I get up. We’re good people, I don’t understand why this is happening to us.”

With the troubling series of events, the couple revealed that they can’t even keep up with all that they’re being charged for. “Some of them I understand, some of them I don’t,” Teresa revealed. “I’m learning as we go.”

Plus, with four daughters at home, they haven’t even entertained the idea of going to prison (which they could…for up to 50 years). “I’m not really thinking about that right now,” Teresa explained. “I’m just focusing on my family, being a wife and a mom to my four beautiful daughters.”

Speaking of the children, Joe said that they will definitely not stay with Joe and Melissa Gorga, should anything happen. “If God forbid something should ever happen to where we would have to worry about where the kids would go, it wouldn’t be Melissa and Joe,” he said, point-blank. “I would have my sister…I would have my brother. I don’t even think the kids would want to go with Melissa and Joe after all the things they say on television about their mom.”

Amidst everything, the couple is sticking to their “not guilty” plea. “We pleaded not guilty for a reason…because we’re not guilty.”
