Lee Thompson Young, who starred as the lead character on Disney Channel’s The Famous Jett Jackson, has died at the age of 29. The actor was found with a gunshot wound that appeared to be self-inflicted.
When Lee didn’t show up to work on the set of TNT’s Rizzoli & Isles on Monday morning, members of the show’s staff contacted his landlord, who then discovered the actor’s body .
“It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning,” his longtime manager says in a statement. “Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor, he was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed.”
