Things are about to get shaken up on Parks and Recreation, as two beloved characters are set to exit the show halfway through the upcoming sixth season. The show’s executive producer, Mike Schur, confirmed that Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe will be leaving.

“The news about Rob and Rashida is true – they will be leaving the show after the 13th episode of the upcoming season six. We’ve been working on their storyline (on and off) for four seasons now, and heading into this year, with the two of them contemplating parenthood, it felt like a natural time to move them into the next phase,” he said in a statement.

Mike added that Rashida, who’s been around since Season One, was one of the very first people producers wanted to cast in the show. On the other hand, Rob, who came on in Season Two, was originally only supposed to be on for about eight episodes. “We couldn’t have been happier that he will have stuck around for 75 [episodes],” Mike added.

The Parks and Recreation Season Six premiere will air on Sept. 26, so get your Rob and Rashida fill in while you can!
