Rachel Bilson on Possible O.C. Reunion: "I'm Sure it Would Be Fun"

Rachel Bilson

It’s been rumored for years that the Friends cast was going to reunite for a reunion episode or movie. Now, that report has been completely debunked on numerous occasions, but it’s opened the door for talk of reunions of other fan-favorite, but cancelled, shows. .

One of those shows is The O.C., which ended after just four seasons. At the recent premiere of The To-Do List, one of the show’s stars, Rachel Bilson, was asked her thoughts on a possible O.C. reunion. “If everyone wanted to do it, I’m sure it would be fun,” she admitted.

Unfortunately, getting everybody on board would probably be the first issue. When Ben McKenzie, who went on to star in Southland, was asked about a reunion movie in 2010, he replied, “I think most people have moved on.”

Rachel’s former off-screen boyfriend Adam Brody, who was a fan-favorite character on The O.C., was the most reluctant to reunite with the cast. “I will never be on it, but I hope they bring it back,” he said in 2008. “It would be like going back to high school or college. But I would be totally thrilled [for them] if they did it.”

Surprisingly, Mischa Barton, who left the show after three seasons to focus on a film career that went nowhere, wasn’t totally against the idea, although she knew there’d be no chance it’d happen. “I just don’t think that we’d be able to get one together,” she explained. “But if we did, it would be cool. It would definitely be really different.”
