The show’s creator announced the news himself on Wednesday, tweeting, “I am thrilled to announce that the super talented Adam Lambert is joining the cast of Glee this fall.” Adam retweeted the message with one of his own back. “I’m so excited!!” he replied.
So far, there’s no details on Adam’s character, and whether or not he’ll be a regular, or just recurring member of the cast. It was recently announced that series vets Heather Morris (Brittany), Mark Sailing (Puck), Amber Riley (Mercedes) and Harry Shum Jr. (Mike) would not be returning as regulars next season.
Adam looks a bit old to be in high school, so maybe he’ll be another authority figure in the school? Or maybe he’ll have a role to play in Kurt (Chris Colfer), Rachel (Lea Michele) and Santana’s (Naya Rivera) life in New York? We’ll have to wait until the fall and see!
