It’s about to be a busy (and likely exciting) few weeks for Taylor Swift! Her new movie The Giver hits theaters on Friday, and on Monday, she’ll participate in a highly-anticipated livestream on Yahoo…but what exactly will that entail?
During an appearance on The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon pressed the singer about what she’ll reveal during the talked-about fan chat…but she didn’t give away much. “There could be one announcement,” she admitted. “Or there could be multiple announcements.”
It’s expected that the 24-year-old will announce a new single and album during the livestream, but the rumor has yet to be confirmed.
However, she did appease the talk show host by confirming another talked about report. “I will tell you that I’m going to perform on the VMAs!” she gushed, leading to more speculation that new music is on the way. details of the performance are being kept under wraps for now. “We’re planning it and….” she said. “We’re planning it.”
In a pre-taped section of the show, Taylor also participated in Jimmy’s famous “EW!” skit, playing a character from out of town named Natalie. And, in fact, she came up with some inspiration for the character from her own childhood! Check out the skit above.
The VMAs will air on MTV Aug. 24.
