Taylor Swift’s storytelling skills are on par once again in her latest music video! The singer released the vid for “Blank Space,” the second single off 1989, on Monday, and really gets into character to tell the already-popular track’s story.
As the 24-year-old has previously explained, “Blank Space” is an ode to how the public seems to view her relationships — they come on strong, and quickly take a turn for the worse thanks to jealousy and blowout fights.
Sean O’Pry plays Taylor’s love interest in the video, and their relationship seems to start off perfectly, full of horseback rides and romantic gestures. When she catches him texting another girl, though, it looks like she’ll do whatever it takes to destroy him and any of his personal belongings (clothes, his car…there’s no limit)!
Taylor’s acting is clearly purposely exaggerated in the 4:30 video, another ode to the idea that she’s supposed to be poking fun at herself. Check it out above!
