Jennifer Lawrence Consoles Crying Fan at Catching Fire Premiere

Red carpets can be overwhelming — and not just for the celebrities with hundreds of camera flashes in their face. At the world premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, a young girl in the crowd couldn’t quite take it anymore and began crying.

Luckily, Jennifer Lawrence was close by, noticed the child in distress, and took it upon herself to try and make everything better. The actress, on her own, moved the barricade out of the way and knelt down to her fan’s level to offer up a comforting chat.

After offering a few hugs and a photo opp, the actress returned to her red carpet duties.

There are mixed reports regarding whether or not the 23-year-old’s actions were just part of a PR stunt. However, she’s always been known to be down to earth and genuine, so it wouldn’t be crazy to believe she did it on her own account, either.
