Chevy Chase stepped out for the first time on Oct. 17 after entering rehab for the second time for alcohol-related issues. His rep confirmed the actor was seeking help in Minnesota at the beginning of September.
The National Lampoon and Community star first entered Betty Ford Clinic rehabilitation center for addiction to painkillers in 1986. According to his publicist at the time, Chevy suffered a “dependency on prescription drugs relating to chronic and long-term back problems” from his previous TV gigs. “I checked myself into the Betty Ford Clinic after my nose started to hurt,” he admitted to Esquire in 2010.
But the 72-year-old was in no mood for the cameras on Monday night in New York City — nor for answering questions about his recovery.
