ABSENCE doesn’t always make the heart grow fonder. After almost two years of dating, Amy Schumer has broken up with Ben Hanisch — and a friend of the actress, 36, says long-distance ultimately led to the split.
“Amy and Ben loved each other dearly, but it was becoming impossible for them to spend time together,” spills the source. “She’s been traveling nonstop to promote Snatched, and the lengthy separation finally took its toll.”
As Amy racked up accolades, the furniture designer, 30, shunned the spotlight: The couple, who met on the dating app Raya, haven’t been seen together since January.
“What they had was beautiful while it lasted, but these are two very different people who are moving in opposite directions,” explains the friend. “Amy and Ben are both devastated, but it was a decision they made together.”
