It was a good run! During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres show Tuesday, Alison Sweeney announced that she’ll be leaving Days of Our Lives after 21 years.
“I have worked so much,” she explained. “My daughter just turned five and my son is nine and I just want to be with them…and enjoy my last year. I’m going to be on Days for this year. We don’t have a specific time yet, but I will be on all this year.”
For the last seven years, the 37-year-old has been pulling double duty, working on the daytime soap opera while also hosting The Biggest Loser. “I’m really just excited to be with my kids and be with my husband, and…I don’t know — have fun!” she admitted. “And I love writing, my second book’s coming out, so I love writing and I love reading and directing…I’m just finding more things to do.”
