According to
reports, Jose spent his evening at American Bar and Social with two friends from high school, 27-year-old
Emilio Macia and 25-year-old
Eduardo Rivero.

The group remained at the restaurant until at least 2:20am, as evidenced by a photo taken of him at that time.

One hour later, at approximately 3:15am, the coast guard observed a boat crashed on a rocky jetty near Miami Harbor.

All three men died in the crash, with two bodies being found under the boat, and another on the rocks.
