Super Dad!

Ben Affleck Attends Daughter's Soccer Match Post Rehab

Actor puts family first after treatment for alcohol addiction.

Ben Affleck, 44, isn’t just Batman, he’s Super Dad, at least in the eyes of his adoring daughter Seraphina Affleck. He took the 8-year-old to her soccer match and stayed on the sidelines cheering her on with the other soccer dads. In spite of his 2015 split from wife Jennifer Garner, 44, which was never made official legally, Ben has remained a dedicated father and family man. He has been spotted out in Brentwood attending church and shopping with Jennifer and their three kids, Violet, 11, Seraphina, and Samuel, 5. Last month Ben revealed in a message he penned on Facebook that he’d successfully completed a stint in rehab for alcohol addiction. “I have completed treatment for alcohol addiction; something I’ve dealt with in the past and will continue to confront. I want to live life to the fullest and be the best father I can be. I want my kids to know there is no shame in getting help when you need it, and to be a source of strength for anyone out there who needs help but is afraid to take the first step.” This was not Ben’s first visit to a rehab facility. He previously checked into Promises, a Malibu treatment center, in 2001 also for alcohol related issues. There has been much speculation lately about a possible reconciliation between Ben and Jennifer. Ben has lived on the couple’s property since their break and the two have consistently been publicly supportive of each other, and not just as co-parents. Ben mentioned how fortunate he is to have Jen in his corner in his Facebook statement saying, “I’m lucky to have the love of my family and friends, including my co-parent, Jen, who has supported me and cared for our kids as I’ve done the work I set out to do. This was the first of many steps being taken towards a positive recovery.” If his dedication to his sobriety is as strong as his dedication to his family clearly is, chances are Ben will continue to win his battle with alcohol addiction.
