Celine Dion‘s brother Daniel Dion lost his battle with cancer on Jan. 16, just days after her husband, René Angélil, also died from the disease.
Celine’s publicist confirmed the devastating news after it was reported that Daniel, 59, was on his death bed the day after the “Because You Loved Me” singer’s husband died from throat cancer.
Daniel was battling brain, tongue and throat cancer. As Star previously reported, the Dion family believed he may survive until Tuesday at the latest.
He died in Quebec, whereas René died in the Las Vegas home he shared with Celine, 47, and their three children, René Charles, Nelson and Eddy.
Celine has not released a statement regarding Daniel’s death yet, and has not cancelled any additional shows at her Caesar’s Palace residency.
