While opening up to step-daughter Kim Kardashian and sister Khloe Kardashian’s bff Malika Haqq, in a recent I Am Cait series sneak peek, Caitlyn expresses she’s been practicing on the phone to get people to call her ma’am.

“Like if you call down to room service, OK?” she recalls doing “for years.” “I’d be sitting there in my little room, all by my lonesome, and I’d think OK! I’m going to try to get my best feminine voice and call down so they say, ‘Yes, ma’am.’ I could never do it.”

“Try it,” a playful Kim says. “I’ll tell you if you get a ‘yes, ma’am.’”

Kanye West’s pregnant wife impersonated a hotel employee and begins questioning Caitlyn. “Hey, this is room service. How can I help you?”

“Yes, actually, you can help me!” Jenner says in her best female voice.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star laughed and responded, “You sound no different!”

“I didn’t think so!” Jenner says in agreement.

“Sir! What would you like, sir?” North West‘s mom teases.

“See!” Jenner says. “That’s the problem!”

The camera cuts to a solo shot of the I Am Cait star, where she seemed very insecure about her deep voice. “Women cannot relate to the whole voice thing,” she explains. “They don’t see it as being that important when it is that important, not only for you to speak and order and do all that kind of stuff, but very important for your soul that you’re feeling good about that.”

Caitlyn has also been very active on her blog, which is another way the reality star likes to communicate with her fans. She posts photos, videos and journals about what she is doing, thinking and dreaming. After accepting the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYs on July 15, Caitlyn blogged that she was still feeling insecure. “While I felt like I looked great and that the gown looked fabulous, I still have a voice issue,” she journaled. “It’s not quite right compared to my feminine appearance. That bothers me a little bit. However, I hope that people don’t listen to the pitch of my voice, but listen to what I have to say. That’s important to me.”
