Former First Lady and style icon Jackie Kennedy is coming back! – as a character on the big screen, at least. Black Swan actress Natalie Portman just got tapped to play the role in Jackie, a film about the first four days of Jackie O’s life after husband President John F. Kennedy was assassinated while sitting in a car right next to her, in 1963.

It’s the story of those initial agonizing days immediately after the tragedy, where Mrs. Onassis had to cope and come to terms with the horrific events she’d just endured, face the brutal fact that she’d just lost her true love and partner, and that the nation had lost their President. Much of Jackie’s experiences during that somber time have remained relatively unexplored and rather hush-hush, until now.

Set to go into production by the end of 2015, Pablo Larrain will direct the 33-year-old actress and Darren Aronofsky (Requiem for a Dream) will produce.

What do you think? Is the Star Wars actress a good choice to play Jackie Kennedy Onassis?
