Something’s up with Avril Lavigne. The singer has been M.I.A. for the last several weeks, and a new Twitter exchange vaguely reveals the reasons why.
Twitter user Avril Lavigne Charts shared a back-and-forth direct message with the Canadian star over the weekend, and shared screen shots of the conversation. “I felt bad because I haven’t been able to say anything to the fans to let them no why I’ve been absent,” she explained. “I’m torn as I’m quite private. I’m not feeling well. I’m having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers.”
Avril’s rep confirmed that the exchange was authentic, but did not divulge what specific problems she was suffering from.
Back in September, reports surfaced about Avril and her husband, Chad Kroeger’s relationship problems, although the couple never confirmed any stories themselves. At the end of the month, Avril was all smiles while celebrating her 30th birthday without the Nickelback frontman, but has rarely been seen in public since.
