Diem Brown was laid to rest by family and friends in New York City on Tuesday, including, of course, her on-again, off-again boyfriend, CT Tamburello. Following the funeral, CT took to Instagram for the first time since his longtime love’s death on Friday.
The MTV reality star uploaded a photo of his The Challenge: Battle of the Exes partner, with a touching note that even alluded to a marriage proposal. Alongside the photo, CT placed a ring, which he mentions in his emotional caption.
“You have always been My Angel,” he wrote. “And now you have your wings. We’ve been thru so much over the years. Thru the ups and downs we somehow managed to keep our promise. We never gave up on each other. Our plan to be together forever hasn’t changed… it’s just going to take a little longer now. And I’m going to hold onto this ring for you till we are together again. So don’t worry mama, I’m not afraid. I know you will always be with me to give me your strength. You are The Love of My Life. My reason to be a better man. I Love You Always and Forever.”
CT and Diem were reportedly filming The Challenge: Battle of the Exes 2, when she got too sick to continue and had to fly home. In September, the Boston native shared a photo of himself sitting at a sickly-looking Diem’s bedside and holding her hand. “Sometimes just being there for someone can be the difference between a good and bad day. @diembrown could definitely use a few..” he captioned the picture.
On Nov. 14, Diem lost her long battle with cancer. She was originally diagnosed with the disease in her ovaries at just 23-years-old, but after years cancer-free, it came back in 2012. After over a year in remission, the cancer spread to the 32-year-old’s colon and stomach over the summer, eventually making its way to her lymph nodes and liver, as well.
