It looks like The Situation is following in the footsteps of Teresa and Joe Giudice! U.S. attorney Paul Fishman announced on Wednesday that the reality star has been charged with conspiracy to commit fraud.

The Jersey Shore cast member and his brother, Marc Sorrentino, are accused of not properly paying taxes on an $8.9 million income Mike received from promotional activities. They’re each charged with one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States and three for filing false tax returns.

“According to the indictment, Michael and Marc Sorrentino filed false tax returns that incorrectly reported millions made from promotions and appearances,” Paul told ABC News. “The brothers allegedly also claimed costly clothes and cars as business expenses and funneled company money into personal accounts.”

The brothers face a maximum three years in prison if convicted.

However, Marc’s attorney has a different stance on the situation, and is blaming an unnamed accountant. “The charges are fiction,” he said. “It’s unfortunate that the government is relying on the word of a disgraced accountant who is a proven liar. We have been showing the government for the better part of a year now the flaws in their theory and now we’ll have to show the same to the court.”
