All of Hollywood was rocked by the tragic news of Robin Williams death on Monday, but for Sarah Michelle Gellar, the news hit especially close to home.

The actress worked with the late comedic actor all of last year on one of his last projects, CBS sitcom The Crazy Ones. He played her dad on the TV show, which was recently canceled after just one season.

“This is without question, the hardest few words I have ever tried to write,” she said in a statement. “My life is a better place because I knew Robin Williams. To my children he was ‘Uncle Robin,’ to everyone he worked wit, he was the best boss anyone had ever known, and to me he was not just an inspiration but he was the Father I had always dreamed of having. There are not enough adjectives to describe the light he was, to anyone that ever had the pleasure to meet him. I will miss him everyday, but I know the memory of him will live on. And to his family, I think them for letting us know him and seeing the joy they brought him. Us Crazy Ones love you.”

Robin died of a suspected suicide at 63-years-old. He filmed four upcoming movies before his passing — Boulevard, Merry Friggin’ Christmas, Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb, and Absolutely Anything.
