Robin Williams Dead at 63 in Apparent Suicide

Celebrities Visit SiriusXM Studios September 25, 2013

Robin Williams was found dead on Monday at his home in what the coroner’s office believes to be suicide via asphyxiation.

“He was been been battling severe depression of late,” his rep said in a statement. “This is a tragic and sudden loss. The family respectfully asks for their privacy as they grieve during this very difficult time.

The actor’s wife, Sudan Schneider, also issued a statement regarding the loss of her husband. “This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken,” she said. “On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”

Williams is best known for roles in Mork & Mindy and Good Will Hunting.
