Many are anticipating the release of 50 Shades of Grey this February, but there’s at least one person who won’t be rushing to theaters to see it! Dakota Johnson, who stars as the film’s leading lady, has forbidden her famous parents, Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson, from seeing the racy flick.
“I have not seen 50 Shades of Grey. I don’t think I’m going to see it,” Melanie told Indiewire. “[Dakota] was like, “You guys cannot come. There’s no way.” So we’re not going. I did go visit for a couple of days when they were shooting just normal stuff.”
The actress even admitted that she caught a glimpse at Christian Grey’s (Jamie Dornan) “Red Room of Pain” during her visit on set.
And even though she won’t be sitting in the movie theater on premiere night, that doesn’t mean she’s not proud of her daughter for the breakout role. “She’s amazing — so good,” Melanie gushed. “It’s just so beautiful to see her doing this. She had her mom and her dad and her grandmother and she’s just taken us all and thrown us away. She’s like, “Here I am!””
50 Shades of Grey hits theaters on Valentine’s Day.
