Hollywood’s biggest couple knows how to keep the romance alive!
Angelina Jolie recently told Australia’s TV Week magazine that she and Brad Pitt sent each other love letters while they were apart due to work commitments. While the actress was recently working on her second movie as a director, Unbroken, in Australia, her fiance was filming Fury in London.
Despite the distance, they kept their relationship hot with old-fashioned love letters! “He was supportive from a distance and it was quite romantic in a way,” she gushed. “We decided to be of that time when we could just imagine he was in the European theater and I was in the Pacific theaters and we wrote handwritten letters to each other that were very connecting for us, thinking of the people that were separated for months, if not years, at a time back then.”
During the interview, the 39-year-old also opened up about a heartwarming moment she shared with Olympic athlete and World War II hero, Louis Zamperini, who’s the inspiration for Unbroken. The track star died at age 97 on July 2, but was able to see a rough cut of the film with some help from Angelina.
“I brought him the film on my laptop in the hospital and it was amazing seeing someone at the end of their lfe watching their life unfold again, at the same time their body was shutting down,” she recalled. “He wanted me to make the movie to show something hopeful about strength of the human spirit that can pull us through. He reminded me to have my surgery in the year that I did and he reminded me to appreciate every day of my life.”
Unbroken, based on Laura Hillenbrand’s bestselling novel, tells Zamperini’s courageous story, and is set to come out this Christmas Day.
