Andi Dorfman accepted Josh Murray’s proposal on the season finale of The Bachelorette this week, but how much does she really know about her future husband?! It’s a good bet she’s still unaware of his secret arrest in Tampa, Fla. — during which, Star has exclusively learned, he was involved in a booze-fueled, foul-mouthed face-off with the police.
Josh was one of five troublemakers arrested in the early morning of Feb. 29, 2008, after creating a disturbance outside a Tampa CVS and Starbucks. “They were all cursing very loudly [at] the police, clearly creating a disturbance,” an office on the scene reported.
Once a number of police cars converged to arrest the group, an officer admitted that Josh suddenly became “remorseful and polite,” not wanting the incident to affect his possible future with a professional sports team.
The athlete was released on his own recognizance, but returned ten minutes later with mom, Lauren, who spoke to the officers on her son’s behalf. At one point, when Josh interrupted the conversation, she explained, “That’s just the alcohol talking.”
Josh pled not guilty to the disorderly conduct charge, and the State Attorney eventually decided not to prosecute the case.
