Brad And Angelina To Co-Star In New Film

Global Summit To End Sexual Violence In Conflict

The first time Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie appeared together in a feature film they ignited a romantic firestorm that left Hollywood permanently scorched.

Now, almost a decade later, cinema’s hottest married couple returns to the big screen – but will the spark still be there?

Pitt and Jolie are scheduled to co-star in “By The Sea,” the upcoming feature film written and directed by Jolie – and it will be the first time the two have appeared together onscreen since the 2005 blockbuster “Mr. and Mrs. Smith”.

While “Mr. and Mrs. Smith” was a big hit and a boost for both actors’ careers – the highest grossing film for both actors up to that point. It was also where the two first met and fell in love — ending Pitt’s five year marriage to Jennifer Aniston and beginning a new relationship with Joile that would lead to marriage and six children (three biological, and three adopted).

“By The Sea” is described as “intimate, character-driven drama”, and will be co-produced by Pitt and Jolie for Universal Pictures. The film will be Jolie’s third time in the director’s chair, preceded by her 2012 Golden Globe-nominated debut “In the Land of Blood and Honey” , and the upcoming drama “Unbroken” now in post-production and scheduled for a Christmas release with Universal.

“Universal has “created a very special place for storytellers, and I look forward to the continued passion and support they have provided to me as a filmmaker,” Jolie said.

Universal Pictures Chairman Donna Langley returned the love, saying: “Angelina and Brad represent two of Hollywood’s brightest talents,” she said, “and we are excited to be a part of their collaboration on this powerful piece.”
