It looks like things aren’t as cohesive in Panem as President Snow thought! In the first teaser for Mockingjay: Part 1, Donald Sutherland’s character gives his country a PSA about sticking together, but in the recently released second trailer, his speech gets an abrupt interruption.
Joined by Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Johanna (Jena Malone), as well as several guards in white, Snow continues, “Throughout this great nation, never have we been more unified because now, more than ever, Panem is speaking through one voice — the Capitol and the districts bound together in solidarity, together…”
At that point, his voice cuts out, and Beetee appears on screen with a message from District 13: “The Mockingjay lives.” Of course, he’s referring to Jennifer Lawrence’s character, Katniss, who defied the Capitol by joining the rebels in District 13.
While Katniss and Peeta were originally partners in crime, they got separated during the 75th Annual Hunger Games, when the rebels were able to get Katniss away safely, but her love interest was intercepted by President Snow’s team. Mockingjay hits theaters on Nov. 21.
