Survivor: Blood vs. Water contestant Caleb Bankston died Tuesday, when the train he was riding on derailed and reportedly crushed him. According to TMZ, the 26-year-old, who works for the Alabama Warrior Railway, was checking something in a small space between two cars when the train went off-track.
The reality show alum competed on the show’s 27th season with his fiance, Colton Cumbie, and finished in ninth place as a fan favorite. Many Survivor alums have taken to Twitter to mourn Caleb, but Colton kept things simple, reportedly writing on his private account, “I just wish it was me…”
Caleb is the third Survivor contestant to pass away since the show premiered in 2000. Survivor: Palau contestant Jenn Lyon died after a long battle with breast cancer in 2006, and 77-year-old BB Andersen, of the original Survivor cast, died of brain cancer in 2013.
