“It’s funny, because we’ve now each experienced a day — I’ve had Mother’s Day, and Jason [Sudeikis] had Father’s Day,” she told Dave Letterman. “And he and I have very different ideas about what we want to do on our day.”
For her special day in May, the actress said, “I wanted to have brunch, I wanted to go to Central Park. I had this image of Central Park just being completely empty — just rolling meadows and one person a mile away flying a kite.”
That picture perfect image isn’t exactly what the family found upon arrival, though. “We go up there…and it’s hell!” Olivia revealed. “It’s like everybody in the world is in Central Park that day.”
The worst part — only one bathroom (as far as the Rush star could tell). “It was a bad decision on my part,” she admitted. “I had the image of the picnic and everything would be so lovely and there would be flowers and the baby would be cooing and I would be the glorious mother. Instead…we were sweating and angry and hungry. And everyone had to pee.”
Her conclusion? “I now consider it the most important holiday!”
Olivia and Jason welcomed their son, Otis, on April 20. Next up for the engaged couple — a wedding, perhaps?!
