Check out the West Village’s hottest new restaurant, Horchata — it just opened up on May 14!
Located in the heart of Manhattan’s Greenwich Village neighborhood (470 Sixth Avenue, New York, NY 10011), Horchata offers a unique and playful spin on traditional Mexican cuisine, along with an expansive craft cocktail and beverage selection, in a warm, convivial setting. Conceptualized and designed by Samantha Wasser, ESquared Hospitality’s Creative Director, Horchata’s décor blends ease and comfort with a spirit of playfulness to create a warm, intimate dining experience.
Horchata’s menu, created by Chef Manuel Trevino, pays homage to classic regional and traditional Mexican cuisine while incorporating unique, playful influences that nod to modern American and Tex-Mex fare. Its signature dish is the Dorado en Hoja de Platano — banana leaf grilled Mahi-Mahi, black bean puree, banana leaf and pineapple habanero salsita!
The restaurant boasts a progressive beverage program influenced by both Mexican tradition and contemporary cocktail trends. In addition to classic Mexican sodas and exotic fresh aguas frescas, Horchata will offer spiked Horchatas, fresh frozen margaritas, flights of thoughtfully curated rare and small-batch tequilas and mezcals, a global selection of wine and beer, and a rotating collection of seasonal cocktails that highlight ripe and bold ingredients. Signature cocktails include the Funky Monkey — Horchata, Malibu Rum, Stoli Vanilla and Kahlua — and Smokey the Bear — Mina Real Mezcal, Croft Distinction Port, Lemon and Agave.
