Two of Hollywood’s biggest A-Listers will be reuniting on-screen in the near future — and they also happened to be engaged off-screen! Angelina Jolie confirmed on Extra that she and her fiance, Brad Pitt, will be costarring in an upcoming movie which she penned the script for.
While she wasn’t able to reveal much, the Oscar winner did give away some details about what we can expect from the film. “I really can’t say very much,” she admitted. “It’s not a big movie, it’s not an action movie. It’s the kind of movie that we both love, but aren’t often cast in. It’s a very experimental, independent type film where we get to just be actors together and be really raw and open and try things.”
The 38-year-old has noticeably been much more choosy with her acting roles in recent years, especially as she’s taken on directorial positions, but she’s not ready to give up time in front of the camera just yet. “I’m getting down there, and I think at some point it will be [time],” she said. “I love directing. [Upcoming film] Unbroken was really just one of the greatest experiences I’ve ever had working on a film.”
In the meantime, though, she has a talked-about blockbuster coming out in just a few weeks. Angelina will star as the Sleeping Beauty villain in Maleficent, a movie in which three of her six kids make an appearance. “It was fun to share, but it was also…I’m better when they’re there,” she revealed, of working with them. “My performance was a little more enhanced, because if I think about making them laugh I get a little crazier.”
Maleficent hits theaters on May 30.
