Despite poor ratings, American Idol will return for another season. The show was officially renewed by Fox, with the news announced on Thursday.
The network revealed Season 14’s audition dates online — they’ll take place in 15 cities across the United States this summer. As of now, no judges for the new season have been announced yet, but with tryouts beginning on June 18, it shouldn’t be more than a month before we find out.
The show received backlash and criticism with the addition of Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj to the judge’s table in Season 12. This year, beloved Keith Urban stayed on the panel, and was joined by previous fan-favorite Jennifer Lopez as well as rookie Harry Connick Jr.
Currently, American Idol has four contestants left. The live season finale, where another winner will be named, takes place in two weeks.
