Let’s hope Jessica Simpson wasn’t tuning for the new episode of Real Housewives of Orange County on Monday! The episode marked the season debut of new housewife Lizzie Rovsek, and Star can reveal that the singer has history with the reality star.
Eight years ago, the swimwear designer began dating Jessica’s then-husband, Nick Lachey, as the couple’s marriage was falling apart! The former boy-bander started seeing Lizzie just week after his wife filed for divorce in December 2005.
On the morning of Feb. 1, 2006, Nick was reportedly spotted leaving the parking garage of Lizzie’s Los Angeles apartment, and two nights later, they met up in a West Hollywood nightclub. “Jessica had already heard from friends that Nick had been seeing a ‘striking brunette,'” a source explains. “She was hurt that he might have moved on with a new girlfriend so quickly. She tore into Nick on the phone, demanding to know everything about his relationship with Lizzie.”
When contacted by Star, Lizzie declined to comment on her past with Nick, but she did tell us, “He’s a great guy, and I wish him nothing but the best.” Now, Nick and Lizzie are both married (to Christian Rovsek and Vanessa Minillo, respectively), while Jessica is engaged to Eric Johnson.
