On May 4th and 5th, The Makeup Show unveiled “The Makeup Show Icon Gallery” in New York City. The event kicked off with a rare glimpse inside the mind and makeup of the legendary Kevyn Aucoin.
Never-before-seen pieces from the late makeup artist’s life work were showcased at the unveiling, celebrating his dedication to the art of makeup. The Makeup Show Icon Gallery provided a glimpse inside Kevyn’s professional and personal life, bringing guests behind-the-scenes to view some of his most important and inspiring work.
“Like so many of my fellow makeup artists, the work of Kevyn Aucoin was and is a huge inspiration for me,” James Vincent, The Makeup Show’s Director of Artist Relations, says. “Having had the ability to assist Kevyn, I feel so lucky to have learned from a legend, but even far before that, his work was the first time I really became aware that there were makeup artists in the fashion world.”
