Justin Bieber Apologizes for New Controversy in Japan

Justin bieber

He’s been laying pretty low for a few weeks, but on Wednesday, another controversy rose for Justin Bieber. The singer received a lot of hate tweets after he visited a controversial structure in Japan that honors Japanese criminals from World War II.

In a photo uploaded, and then deleted, on Instagram, the 20-year-old stands in front of the shrine with the caption, “Thank you for your blessings.”

This time, though, the Biebs took responsibility for his mistake. After he quickly discovered the history of the structure, the singer took down the picture and replaced it with the headline of a news article about his controversial visit, captioned with an explanation.

“While in Japan I asked my driver to pull over for which I saw a beautiful shrine,” he wrote. “I was mislead to think the Shrines were only a place of prayer. To anyone I have offended I am extremely sorry. I love you China and I love you Japan.”

The trip wasn’t a complete mess for Justin, though. He performed for a crowd of Japanese fans, and even took the time to pose for photos. Plus, according to Twitter, his mom is accompanying him on the trip, so hopefully that’ll keep the star from causing any more trouble!
