Uh-oh — somebody may be in the doghouse after this one! While doing press for the upcoming film The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Andrew Garfield answered a question in a way that had his costar, and girlfriend, Emma Stone, firing back!
During a Q&A panel, a young boy asked the actor, “How did Spider-Man get his costume?” Andrew replied, “He made it. He made it with his bare hands. He sewed it — took some sewing classes and some needlework. It’s kind of a feminine thing to do, but he really kind of made a very masculine costume out of a feminine thing…”
The 30-year-old couldn’t complete his thought, though, because Emma interjected, “Feminine how?,” which earned a response from the audience.
But, Andrew didn’t let his lady win this one. “It’s amazing how you took that as an insult!” he told her. “It’s feminine because I would say that femininity is more about delicacy and precision and detail work and craftsmanship.”
Luckily, in the end, the 27-year-old seemed to be able to laugh it off…with some help from costar, Jamie Foxx. Check it out in the video above!
